How It All Began

Taupe & Ike was founded by Nanci Garnand, a real estate professional and community connector with a passion for helping people. As Nanci says:

“I need the attention of cats! And, I need people too. There, I said it. I need a way to stay connected. I’ve even been called a collector of people.”

Nanci’s journey started in the banking industry, where she learned firsthand the value of staying in touch with clients. But keeping up with relationships was harder than it should be. From Rolodex cards to spreadsheets to digital tools, Nanci was always searching for a better way to connect, follow up, and grow her business—without feeling overwhelmed.

The Need for a Better CRM

When Nanci transitioned into real estate, she discovered the power of a good CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. For the first time, she could manage client details, send email campaigns, map addresses, track transactions, automate follow-ups, and even celebrate milestones—all in one place. That’s when the vision for Taupe & Ike CRM was born:

Taupe was a sweet Siamese mix adopted from the NoCo Humane Society with her five kittens. Despite having asthma, Taupe lived a playful, cherished life—and even helped raise little Ike.

Ike

A Curious one

Ike was a curious 5-week-old kitten found on Eisenhower Blvd in Loveland, Colorado. Though his life was short due to illness, he brought joy, energy, and companionship.

Their legacy lives on in the name and spirit of our company.
